A cryptographic method that lets you independently verify that a game outcome was not manipulated. The operator commits to a result before the bet is placed by publishing a hash; afterwards you can check the revealed values against that commitment. It proves the result was not changed after you bet — it does not remove the house edge.

A fixed-length string produced from an input by a cryptographic function such as SHA-256. The same input always produces the same hash, and the input cannot practically be recovered from it. That one-way property is what lets an operator commit to a seed without revealing it.

A random string generated by the operator which, combined with your client seed and a nonce, determines game outcomes. Its hash is published before you bet, and the seed itself is revealed afterwards so the result can be reproduced.
