Volatility
How far a game's real results scatter around its RTP. High volatility means rarer but larger wins and longer losing runs; low volatility means frequent small wins. Two games with identical RTP can feel completely different to play.

Volatility: a practical example
Two hypothetical games can have 96% RTP while one pays smaller prizes more frequently and the other concentrates returns in rare large prizes. Their long-run average can match even though session outcomes differ.
Common misunderstanding
High volatility does not mean a higher RTP or that a large prize is due after a losing run.
